The bus was overcrowded. Too many people were let on when not enough people got off and the escorts would be yelling at people to take a seat when there were no seats. After getting on and off two times and the escort asking us to have our son sit in our lap (who was sleeping on the side of us and who we bought a ticket for), we got off and used ...

do not take the tourmobile
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/17/09
The brochure online says 40 stops. They combine all the places at the smithsonian and the monuments and count that as several stops in their list of 40. The buses are over crowded and the lines are long to reboard. Sometimes having to wait another 30 minutes for the next bus. If the weather is bad it is a long wait. The P. A. system is garbled and ...

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/01/08
We loved our visit to DC. The Tourmobil is great and a great 2 day pass Rate. We spent 3 days in DC. the tour mobil made it a easy route of travel. Monuments and cemetary tour is fabulous. Old post office and Union Station is a days tour in itself. Spy museum not worth the money. Wouldn't return there. White House visitors center worth the time.

I'm visiting my sister and rode Tourmobile yesterday. I hate the 25 minute winter schedule because that's too long a wait when it's cold. The narrators were very good and quite knowlegeable. Most were very pleasant and helpful. It's much better than Trolley which is unheated...and Open-Top with those stupid recordings which are ...

Tourmobile employees have no compassion for the tourists they are being paid to serve. We were left sitting on hot tourmobile in Arlington for 35 minutes with the gates to the mobil "locked". I had 4 children with me, all in need of water, and I had to climb over the gate to bring this concern to the attention of our driver. When I did ...

Great Tour and Value

Unbelievable Tour of the city. Maybe I was lucky but the tourguide gave an unbelievable tour. He was a retired school teacher and knew his history of the city and the United States . He added little known facts and antedotes were great. His enthusiasm made me ride the entire trip throughout the city.Look for the retired school teacher.
The guide was informative, but other tours give you a guided tour of the monuments and the Old Trolley also includes the Iwo Jima memorial. You were in a hurry at every monument and I would have enjoyed the guide taking us to the monuments and explaining the behind the scenes events that led up to the monuments being created. Do not take if you are slow and like to take your time.
I used Tourmobile on a recent trip to D.C. I relied on Old Town Trolley Tours, which I highly recommend, to see most of the city. I only used Tourmobile because they have a monopoly at the sprawling Arlington Cemetery. The guides were really rude and discourteous. For example, at one of the stops where we did not intend to get off the vehicle, we ...
