Lincoln Memorial

I enjoyed the cleanliness and the history. It is situation near the Capitol Building. It's a nice place to go to reflect on the nation's future. I reading about out 16th President. I enjoyed the fact that it is very open and a person will not feel closed in eventhough thousands visit the site each month. It is beautiful among the other historical sites surrounding it. It is a must see.

I saw history come alive. I was there on business and had a great time. Please go and check it out. Standing there and looking at the stature and water is unforgettable. The gift store was small but it had nice things to purchase.

Just like in the movies
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/29/05
Everytime I watch a movie shot in Washington DC, I get excited seeing all these museums in the background. "I've been there!!!", I say. And it's even better than what it looks like in the big screen.

The Lincoln Memorial is a real tribute to one of the greatest leaders any country has ever known. It is majestic and an appropriate tribute to the memory of this great president who did so much to bring our country back together and set it on a path to the greatness it knows today. Don't miss this wonderful treasure.

A bit of history
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/26/05
It's got a wonderful view of the Washington Monument, complete with the reflecting pool. Not to mention the Abraham Lincoln statue which is majestic and the spot where Martin Luther King, Jr. gave his "I have a dream" speech. Just standing there is powerful...to imagine what happened in that very spot. It's amazing.
The National Mall, The Lincoln Memorial and surronding area memorialize part of our nation's history. It is an awsome sight to see the Statue of Abraham Lincoln! It looks as though he is pondering the fate of our nation. Within walking distance of this memorial are the Vietnam Wall. Being able to touch the wall and see the amount of names ...
nice view but hard to go there. Anyway, you can enjoy the beautiful view around the heart of DC. You can also see the monument, capital hill and the mall. Must go.
