Not only is this monument awesome in size, but if you spend a little time there, you can get a sense of an awesome spirit of patriotism there. If you read the etchings on the walls, you can get a sense of the magnitude of this President's influence on American history.
I stood amazed @ the size of the monument. Seeing it on TV or film is one thing, but the magnitude of it was amazing. The words on the walls changed my life forever. The struggle and the faith of a man that held a country together. This is a must see for all.
THe Lincoln Memorial is ok by day but by night it was just that more majestic and special. I was with a group of teenagers on a trip and this memorial made even them pause and catch their breath. The building is awe inspiring and the statue of Lincoln is inspiring. To see it in person is so much more than what one sees in pictures and on tv. The atmosphere is what makes the differance.
This monument was wonderful! If I could, I'd transfer it to my back yard! It's so pretty, and everyone there had the up most respect, and was quiet. It was gorgeous! I would recommend seeing this monument at least once! We saw it 4 times, we could stop looking at it! The one thing that I didn't like, was the elevators were down. ...
Everytime my wife and i go to the Lincoln Memorial it overwhelms us how powerful of a monument it is. Everything it represents and it's importance to our country is amazing.
Even without the historical significance of this memorial, it's architectual and artistic beauty is worth visiting. This memorial may mean many different things to different people, but no matter your perspective, it is something you should see at least once.
This memorial and the ones surrounding it makes you swell with pride to be an American and appreciate the freedoms and opportunities we have. Parking can be sometimes difficult if you don't use public transportation.
I enjoyed the cleanliness and the history. It is situation near the Capitol Building. It's a nice place to go to reflect on the nation's future. I reading about out 16th President. I enjoyed the fact that it is very open and a person will not feel closed in eventhough thousands visit the site each month. It is beautiful among the other historical sites surrounding it. It is a must see.
I saw history come alive. I was there on business and had a great time. Please go and check it out. Standing there and looking at the stature and water is unforgettable. The gift store was small but it had nice things to purchase.
