Very moving...words cant describe it. You have to see it for yourself. You will leave this place with a whole different point of view. Visit during the week, there will be less of a crowd and more time to reflect on this tragedy.

Very simply... a Must for Everyone.
This site requires at least 25 words but, it doesn't take that many.
A thoughtful, provocative, disturbing look into our souls.

The point of view of a local

I live in Washington, D.C. and I have seen more memorials, monuments, and museums than any tourist can imagine. I have been to Yad Vashem and the Simon Wiesenthal Center - they have a totally different feeling. The permanent exhibit at the Holocaust Museum is the BEST exhibit in Washington, D.C.
The museum, from the very beginning prepares you ...

WOW!

The Holocaust Museum is a DC MUST! It is breathtaking and hopeful at the sametime, and leaves every visitor feeling changed! Plan an adequate amount of time to fully see this museum. Tickets are available in advance.
Beautifully done, very informative. Hits close to my heart. So many preserved artifacts such as shoes and letters from the Holocaust. So many actual accounts of people from the Holocaust. It was touching being there.

The Museum is awesome; the crowds are not!
By koalater, 06/16/07
The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum is so awesome. It's a familiar story but one that needs to be preserved and this museum has done an excellent job. My only complaint was that it was so crowded, even with timed tickets, that it was difficult to read everything and waiting to read everything took a very long time. However, the big ...

Very moving!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/04/07
Our family had a very moving visit to the museum. We were in D.C this past week, last minute school field trips made the experience stressful lots of tour buses and kids that really were not interested in what they were experiencing. The holocaust museum was a real eye opener for some of these kids. We brought our 12 year old and 8 year old and ...

once is enough
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/13/07
Ifound it interesting but a place you only need to visit once unless you are sick they have a no holds bar on the way things happened nor a place for the faint of heart as it is gory but realistic. It would not be what it is if they did not show exactly what happened. Definatly NOT a place for children under 16 in my opinion. But worth seeing.

We must remember.

We have been here twice. Each time was a learning experiance and that's what a place like this should be for the future generations. A place to learn what real hate looks like and be able to recognize it and stop it.
