I was at this memorial last Wed night. There was no one there as I silently walked around and took several shots of this glorious scene. I have seen it during the day, but the night time is fantastic as the soft lights shine on these beautiful statues. The feeling is unreal. Play a visit...a must see at night.

  • Washington Tin soldiers
    By Dolphin, 04/25/08
Korean War Veterans Memorial pays tribute to the men and women who fought in the Korean War. Located to the right of the Lincoln Memorial, this monument features 19 tin soldiers carefully making their way through Korean terrain. There is a black granite wall next to the tin men. I heard one man call it the "Wall of Heros" It has ...

  • See it at Night
    By DJ, 04/08/07
Take the night memorial tour and come see the Korean Memorial at night.

The Viet Nam, Korean and WWII memorials are at their most poignant at night.

But the Korean one is something special in the evening.

The granite walls are etched with the faces of those who served and the at night they are light from below.

The faces come alive as ...

  • Worth every minute
    By Kate, 07/06/06
It was beautiful and close to several other memorials. I would not miss it, if you have a choice.

Try to group Lincoln Memorial, Korean Memorial, Vietnam Memorial, Eistien Memorial and WWII. They are all worth it!

This was the most chilling memorial because of the soldiers in the sculpture garden. It has a wall with names inscribed on it similar to the Vietnam Memorial but its focus is more on healing between the US and Korea. It also utilizes a water feature which the children really seemed to be enjoying.

  • Unbelievable
    By CJ, 03/13/06
It was so haunting, it was like time stop for a moment, and you were transported to that time and space. You saw the tears running down their faces, the horror of what was happening, and the terror of not having any help coming your way. You were part of their experience if only for a fleeting moment. They were the proud, the few who knew of the ...

  • Clearly Well Planned

This memorial is breathtaking. Ever ingraved on my heart "Freedom is Never Free." Makes life seem simple compared to what they faced. And to think this was considered a "Police Action." Who are we kidding? Any time lives are taken, it is war.

  • nonsense of wars
    By Lukasz, 09/16/05
This memorial shows real picture of war: young soldiers (look very real with guns, radios, in mud) fighting for political reasons. More touching than Vietnam War Memorial.

  • Amazing
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/10/05
Definetely make a point to come to this memorial! It is very close to the Vietnam Memorail which is also beautiful. The Korean Memorial is unique because instead of having names engraved into a wall it has thousands of faces. The statues are amazing. When I was there I met a man who had been in the unit in which the statues represent... all of ...
