I the National Archives hold some of the Nations most important documents. We read about them in history class but to see the documents up close is cool. I would suggest not going in if you see small kids going in.

The National Archives are free which makes them a great value. And while it was neat seeing the Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights, and the Magna Carta. The cases that enclosed the pieces were more interesting than the papers themselves. I understand that it's historic value is high, but the lines are long and once you get into the main rotunda it's difficult to squeeze your way in to see anything.

The National Archives should definitely be in the top 10 places to see in Washington D.C. You will see our Declaration of Independence, Constitution of The United States, Bill of Rights, and The Magna Carta. These original documents are displayed within an awesome Rotunda. The home for the Constitution and Declaration of Independence this is almost a religious experience.

The only downside is the line to get in.
