  • I stood in line for this
    By baby, 02/21/09
I the National Archives hold some of the Nations most important documents. We read about them in history class but to see the documents up close is cool. I would suggest not going in if you see small kids going in.

  • Less impressive than I expected

The National Archives are free which makes them a great value. And while it was neat seeing the Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights, and the Magna Carta. The cases that enclosed the pieces were more interesting than the papers themselves. I understand that it's historic value is high, but the lines are long and once you get into the main rotunda it's difficult to squeeze your way in to see anything.

The National Archives should definitely be in the top 10 places to see in Washington D.C. You will see our Declaration of Independence, Constitution of The United States, Bill of Rights, and The Magna Carta. These original documents are displayed within an awesome Rotunda. On the walls are two large hand painted murals that leave you breathless as ...

  • A must see!
    By DJ, 04/08/07
If you come to DC for no other reason but to see our country's government in action then you must visit here.

The home for the Constitution and Declaration of Independence this is almost a religious experience.

The only downside is the line to get in.

Best seen in the off season.

  • Awesome!

Why is this number 71? It should be in the top 10. The Archives are the home of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. It all has other documents like the Magna Carta. It's a beautiful building and it's kept a bit on the dark side to preserve the documents. I've been there three times. Twice we got in right away and ...
