    The current church was built on top of the land where the original 1660's era church was before it burned. It is larger and covers part of the former graveyard, The basement has preserved headstones from the 1600's & 1700's. Interesting.

    The official name of this church is First Church of Christ in New Haven, NOT Congregational United Church of Christ. The United Church of Christ is the denomination to which Center Church (a Congregational Church), established in 1638, belongs.
