    I go to the Colorado Renaissance Festival in Larksbur every year. I truly live to go there! While I never dress up, I go every year for the turkey legs and to people watch.   • Take it all in.

    Plan ahead. Pick a character you can relate to, either from real history, some old movie or just made up by you, rent or obtain a costume, and just go to town.
    Give the Rennies (staff at the festival) something to interact with you over and watch how creative they can get. Spend a few hours being someone you haven't been all year.
    It's the best way to experience the Ren fest.

    well traveled all over also..& Castle Rock is NOT Larkspur.
    the little mexican eatery is just one place..(but if it was about the food)
    why not just eat at the festival?
    in a nice middle class & upper end communittee...But Castle Rock again...is not not Larkspur..where there are homes skattered in the trees for miles & ranches, ...

    I loved it there, dont listen to any of the yahoos who said it wasnt good. they people are amazing, costumes incredible, and shows entertaining! i cant wait to go back. oh ya and i met the man of my dreams there!

    While I used to love the Renaissance Festival when I was younger, the joy has rubbed off. I think it is an awesome place for kids, however for the rest it is kind of a let down. Many people are there who never quite realized that it isn't the middle ages anymore and wearing capes, etc. is out of place in the 21st century.
