After a day at the gardens we decided to stop at the Ghost Town Museum and were disappointed when we got there. We went as a large group and half the people did not even bother paying the admission to get in. After paying the admission it was not as bad as it looked but not too exciting either. Not really worth the money.
If you go into Ghost Town Museum expecting it to be an amazing experience, you'll likely be dissapointed. But, if you have kids, it's a prety inexpensive stop. With coupons, the museum only cost $15.00 for two adults and a child. Plus, you get to pan for gold. And if you don't find anything, the staff is very friendly and even will ...

Summer 1967 Trip
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/16/09
I was taken here when I was 7 years old some 42 years ago. I thought it was neat but the jail cell with the old guy dummy in it scared me to death. I plan to take my family there this summer and see if I can "handle it" now. I have no idea how it has changed over the years but Im sure it will be interesting.
I was hoping that it was an actual ghost town as advertised, but its just a small building with different rooms. I still found it interesting, just not what I was expecting.

This was a glorified tourist shop
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/28/08
It would have been nice if the people panning in the SMALL area for gold could have found 'gold'. The staff was very friendly but all in all it was a tourist shop that you paid to see.

It was so much fun to see all that it was like back in the later years!!!! every family should come exsperiance it for themselfs!!! kids will have a blast as well as adults!!! everyone learns something new!!!!
It was basically a large "Antique Store" set up like an old west town. The people were very nice, and actually gave us a coupon when they didn't have too. If you have time and money to spare, go see it. If you do not, you aren't missing too much, truly.

NOT WORTH IT

Its a waste of money and time. I think the kids had more fun in the parking lot getting in the car that the actual museum itself.

A Good Expereince
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/25/06
It was a good experience to give you a sense of Colorado Springs during the Gold Rush. It was fun for the kids. Could add more things to do but it was worth the trip.
