humm... its a place fulfilled with bars, lounge and night club. Not much things to look or do other than Eat!!the retail stores close at around 9:30pm..its not really a place for me but maybe for you!!
Great place to hang out and meet people! You can also get any type of food your lil heart desires in this area. There are also a lot of neat shops to check out.
I would recommend this place for adults though. I would not take my young childern in this area on a Saturday night.
Had a great time hoppin from one place 2 the next.

"the nightlife conducts no class"
Seriously, that reviewer was right. What a sad sorry city.
The shopping is dull, there is nothing here but "night life" and some resturants.
I wont complain about the museums, as they are all in Balboa and franky I'm going to that area next to complain about the pointless museums.

Very fun nights on the town.

I have lived in San Diego for 6 years. You can pretty much go downtown to Gaslamp and find interesting things going on Thursday through Sunday night. I highly recommend Henry's Pub located on Fifth. It is usually jam-packed in there on Saturday Nights. The same can be said for "Whiskey Girl's" and "The Field" Irish Bar. ...

Awesome Food!

Monsoon, Croce, and Ghirardelli was the best. Don't bother taking cabs around, the rental cars are so cheap through Enterprise, $23/day. Monsoon had a very nice Indian buffet and Croce had a nice jazz band. We returned the next evening to share a hot fudge sundae at Gharadelli.

Great HQ for a San Diego experience
By steveo, 10/05/07
First, I live in San Diego and work in the Gaslamp.
Gaslamp is a great place for a lot of things, but Union Square, Times Square, Las Vegas Strip, it is not. The Gaslamp Quarter runs along Fifth Avenue from the Convention Center by the Bay up to Broadway St., about 13 blocks. In this area, you can find a multitude of restaraunts, clubs, ...

During the day, during Padres games it's alright.
Some of the resturants are really nice, shopping below average. I enjoyed Ventanas and the high end Italian places. The service was excellent, better than I've experienced anywhere in San Diego for the high cost of entertainment.
I consider myself a clubber, I love to go out. I ...

the gaslamp quarter is mostly for nightlife. i thought it would be more shopping and entertainment, but it's just nightlife and restaurants. it's not good for small children, but good for a good lunch.
it's close to the heart of the city and is also a good place to stop by and get something to drink.

Fun nightime hangout
By Steve Auto1, 01/03/06
Great place to party. The downside is the number of drunk people increases as the night goes by. Nevertheless, I would definitely recommend this as a 'must-see' in San Diego.
