Great food, music, and ballpark

You have a great selsction of bars, restaurants, shops, and the great Petco ballpark.
Great music too, a hardrock cafe, night clubs, and local or out of town acts at venues like '4th and B' or 'the house of blues'.
You can stay at the scenic, harbor view hotels near the convention center and have tons to see and do in ...
Go to the Gaslamp Quarter for a lively time in SD. There are tons of restaurants, bars, and clubs to go to. Even if money's tight you can just walk around, have some ice cream, and enjoy yourself. If money's no object go eat at Osetra and then have some cocktails at the W or the Marriott and if you want to go clubbing go to On Broadway.

Neat place!!

We loved walking around the Gaslamp Quarter. We loved being able to park, valet, and walk around the whole evening. The restaurants and bars were so much fun. There was something for everyone's taste in food and music.
I love the energy downtown. You can walk from bar to bar or from club to club and have a fabulous time. Their are beautiful women everywhere and it is a pretty cool atmosphere no need to worry about a bunch of knuckleheads ruining all the fun. The only thing bad that i can say is that it is a challenge to find a parking spot.

Take me out to the ballgame, then just take me out!
Great location. Plenty of parking, or just take the trolley. Something for everyone and its is just a quick walk from the ballpark (PETCO). Shooping, resteraunts, and yes those PADRES!
Gaslamp Quarter sounds like it would be something special, when in reality, it's just a district full of shops. You have an Armani Shop here, Versace there, but nothing out of the ordinary. I think every major city in the United States has something similar to this.
Parking is a nightmare. Very few places to pay a flat rate and when you do ...
During the day this place is only ok. At night, it comes alive with partying, dancing and food.
Pick up some cash, park near the new Petco Park (we found a lot for only $5 all day parking) and simply walk around until your hear some music you like. Most places charge little to no cover and almost all have great drinks and/or food.
