I love the San Diego Zoo
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/05/09
I grew up with this zoo and spent many wonderful days at this zoo. As a teenager my friends and I would spend lots of time there and always would dream of being a zoo keeper. Then as an adult my husband and I would go there too. After moving from San Diego and having children we came back several times. We now plan on coming back to the zoo with ...

I went on a trip and the main focus was the ZOO!!! only i was slightly dissapointed. They do not have penguins, cheetas, many lions, or other big cats. you have to go to the wild animal park and see world to soo the whole deal. I want to be a zoo keeper for my profession and i wanted to go here so bad. Some of the animals where pacing and ...

Go if u have a lot of time.
By san_diego, 04/28/09
It is overhyped for sure! well u do get to see the panda and the sleeping koalas..but if u are on a holiday with only limited time..avoid this. This is a timekiller..with nothing great to offer. I am not saying its not a nice zoo ..but if you are travelling rather go to the beaches, go to la jolla, trek at torrey pines than come here .. ofcourse if ...
I have gone to this zoo twice before and I plan to return. I have been to many zoos and this is one of my favorites. Don't miss the place where river otters and monkeys play together. The underwater hippo exhibit is amazing, too. I loved the beautiful hilly setting and find it hard to see why anyone would complain about that!

GREAT zoo
By Millertime, 03/07/09
I'll start by saying that people that actually give this zoo a low rating are either lost or haven't been to many zoos. This zoos atmosphere and feel is beyond most zoos out there. I am a member of the Houston zoo and it is a basic field trip with no shade and not much compared to this zoo. There is a reason for the high ranking. People are ...

A bit disappointing!
By Susie, 02/19/09
We visited the zoo last year and are planning a trip back to San Diego next month, however, the zoo won't be on my list of things to do again. It's a nice zoo, but for years I'd heard about the "World Famous San Diego Zoo" and maybe my expectations were too high, but I was really disappointed except for the Panda and Koala ...
The San Diego Zoo was fun! There was lots to do & see. If you get tired, go see a show with animals. The zoo is very well maintained. Ride the Skyfari...it's great! The only thing is that snacks & drinks were expensive, but one should always expect that when going to zoos or amusement parks. Overall, a wonderful & memorable experience.

It was really pretty good!
By Marisa, 09/22/08
I really liked this zoo! It was huge, so we didn't get to see all of it, but we got got to see alot of different animals, and the staff was nice! We had a good experience there, I would reccomend it for people with children from maybe.. 2 - 10 of age. If they like animals, I really would reccomend it. But I was kind of hoping for somthing a little more.

Disappointing, but OK
By ipwatchdog, 07/23/08
Forever I have heard that the San Diego Zoo is one of the best zoos in the world, so the hype was high. Unfortunately, the zoo does not live up to the hype. It is good, but I find it hard to believe this is one of the best zoos in the world.
PROS: The panda exhibit was wonderful! The orangutans were fun and extremely active. Polar bears (2 ...
