My family and I thought the pier was a great place to spend a few hours or even all day. Great eating place at the end of the pier. Nice beaches and playground for the kids. Great shopping within walking distance. Visit this place!!!
The pier is a great place to enjoy the view of our coastline. Watching the fisherman and checking out what they caught is a good time. If your hungry check out Ruby's Diner at the end of the pier for the best over the water view burger you can buy.

a place where the entire family can get fun!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/17/08
Oceanside is one of California's few places where the entire family can do a list of things in one place: the kids can swim, the family can spend the day fishing off the pier, the options for food is endless!: American, Italian, French, Oriental--you name it, they have it. After your family has had fun, it's great to watch the sun set and enjoy the cool breezes. My family and I have returned every year for a relaxing get away.
I have been coming to the Oceanside pier, pretty much all my 50 years. My grandparents lived in Oceanside and we loved to comb the beach for shells in the early morning and later walk out on the pier. It is a wonderful pier, so far out there, awesome experience. Fun for all ages. If you get a chance, GO!

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/05/07
with the fishing, and the restaurant, there is nothing not to like about this pier. i have lived in oceanside for 5 years and its awesome. great place to visit, or even live.
I enjoyed this pier. It's a little longer than the ones near me (Manhatten Beach Pier), but I was able to listen to a jazz concert (I was more intrested in listening to it for free than paying more money to see who's playing). The walk to the very end was enjoyable, but if you are out of shape (my dad had a hard time with the walk), then I ...
