If you are single and in San Diego there is NO better place to be. All of the holiday weekends around Mission Bay are crazy. So many good bars in PB are within walking/stumbling distance. Mission bay is great for families too. Dogs are allowed on the beach at night and that can be a lot of fun to do. Ski beach is awesome. The roller coaster is ...
Best place to stay in the San Diego area although if you you are south of the Roller Coaster the planes fly right over your head, can be annoying if you plan on sleeping in.
I love mission beach because has a little bit of everything for everybody , from surfing to Velmond park, from a walk on the beach to a great dinning experience. for couples to families .
The beach would have been nice if it had not been so crowded. It is not a safe place for kids and the environment is not family friendly. Singles and young couples would enjoy it, but the restaurants along the back side of the beach are pricey and alcohol oriented.

the best part of mission beach is the laid back atmosphere. you can maintain your serenity while others enjoy their favorite passtimes. you can see fabulous bodies playing beach volleyball covered with sand performing spectacular shows of skill and then rollarblade down the boardwalk to an outside restraunt and stare at the sea!
Mission Beach is a beautiful place to relax and take in the water front view and chill out. There are so many things to do such as shopping, and dinning. My visit was pleasant and enojoyed the experience I plan on frenquently doing. If you like to relax hangout at the beach and catch a wave or two, MIssion Beach is the place to go.
How to get to Paradise? Go directly to Mission Beach. Boardwalk or sand, take your pick. Wear what you want - sandals or barefoot, board shorts or thong, flight suit or moo moo. Limited on cash, no problem. The best things on Mission are free: Volleyball; Body surfing; Hoops (glass backboards); and for a nominal rental fee you can get surf ...

The last time I had gone to San Diego California was back in 2000. When we got there I fell in love with all of San Diego actually.. It was almost like a deja vu kinda feeling,, Like I had been there before.. The beach was awesome,, I truly didnt want to leave the place... I have good memories and they will last me a lifetime...
Come to Mission Beach if you want some excitement. Lots going on. You've got the beach, the ocean front walk, picnic/firepit, the 80-year-old roller coaster, the night-time entertainment, and, last but not least, the people. Also check out the nice houses lining the beach. You will not lack for something to do here.

My Hometown...

I was born and raised in Mission Beach, and spent my childhood there. Mission Beach is a place that is not to be missed by anyone who wants to see San Diego. Although it's not the same anymore, and things change over the years, it's still a place I would love to go back and vacation, see Sea World, Balboa Park, and Seaport Village. I ...
