Went to see The Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit. I had no problem purchasing a ticket on day of visit. However, plan to spend a few days to see as much as possible at the park.
Just like Old Town...this is another great place to visit. I don't think that I would have had the time to see it if I didn't take the city tour through coach america. Once again, I definitely recommend it!
We had purchased tickets to see the Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit at the Museum of Natural History online ahead of our trip. We didn't even know where the museum was located, so when we arrived at the beautiful grounds, we were wonderfully surprised! I think we enjoyed just walking around the park as much as we enjoyed the exhibit (which was good, ...
the ambiance in this museam filled section of balboa park is so lovely, definite spanish flair, lush gardens and waterfalls, the shakespear plays are a fun thing to do too. a great place for singles on a date, couples looking for a very romantic place to snuggle up, and families.
we enjoyed the park as a romantic peaceful place to settle after a long trip of getting there. a great dog friendly park. if you have kids theres tons to do. if your there with your partner a great place just to be alone and not crunch your wallet.

The beauty of the park is exceptional. We will return to the park everytime we come to San Diego from here on out. The best part is we can just take our time, rest, eat and enjoy. Thank you for taking care of such a beautiful park, continue the good work.
In a city full of stores and smokers, Balboa Park quickly became my favorite place. My boyfriend and I can spend hours, if not entire days here wandering around on the trails, taking pictures, having a picnic, and checking out the museums. The fresh air is much needed in this city.
The museums are a bit expensive, but every tuesday offers a free ...
We did Balboa park in our last two days in San diego. I enjoyed. WOW we started with the Science Centre and caught an IMAX, and then the Musuem of Natural History. I was very entranced.
There is things for young and old. My kids are 3 and 6 years old. So the musuems were fun but didn't interest them as much as me. BUT they did enjoy the ...
Lovely settings to relax and hang out, splendid green grassy areas, huge playground, world beat center, several museums accessible by foot only (Reuben H. Fleet Science Center and IMAXDome) (Natural History Museum), fountain, organ pavillion, Zoo, merry-go-round, train rides, tours, quaint coffee shops and cuisine. Close to Hillcrest area of town. Parking in the park is free at the Zoo.
But it looks like lots of fun! Great paths to walk, lots of place to have fun, great for people watching and the close proximity of the museums is great.
