I loved this place until I met the owner. She was so rude that I will never go back. Even when I tryed to tell her that I felt that she was not being kind to a long time customer, she still continued to be rude. Small business owners make it because of customer service. I was having a great day and now I feel bad and I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING WRONG!

My girls and I venture in to Just for the Halibut about 3-4 times a month. The staff is friendly, the gifts are nice and the merchandise selection isn't overwhelming. Our favorite items to look at are the Webkinz . . . and they are reasonably priced too.

This small gift shop looked pretty interesting until I went inside. Aside from the crass humor laced in every part of the shop--including its 18+ section--I couldn't find anything inexpensive enough to be worth buying. Nothing was valuable enough to keep around the house for more than a month, and their card selection was not very good.

For the first time, few months ago, I went into Just For The Halibut to buy ONE CARD. I ended up buying more cards than I intended. The selection of cards are so much fun to look at. I heard no loud music. I felt a very fun, and friendly atmosphere.
I am hooked.

This business is the card shop gem of San Diego. I've been going there for 20+ years. If you want to laugh and find a perfect card and gift, this is the place. The Halibut never lets me down.

I used to love it, and actually have been purchasing all of my cards here for about 15 years (!) but the selection has declined considerably since the previous owners sold. Even worse, tho, the last time I tried to purchase cards(for Valentine's Day,2007) some bad radio station was blaring so loudly I could not even think. No one at the ...

The most original Cards for any occasion,person,Gay Straight or just Confused! Plus great gift idea's, going for over ten years now & people always ask me "Where in the WORLD did you find THAT card!" Tells you something about the selection you won't find most of these cards in a Hallmark Shop!
