  • The place to go!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/31/05
The staff is great! Jose the bartender is a master, his secret Sangria recipe is to die for.

My wife and I stopped by for a pre-dinner cocktail and left wishing we were eating there instead. I went back for the food and was impressed.

    Enjoy!

  • Great ambiance and food
    By oldfrenchy, 08/12/05
My wife and I dine here several times a year. We are locals who look for a consistant dining experience, and La Gran Tapa provides it. Great ambiance, but be careful not to walk in on a Theatre night when the crowd is packed before the performance!
The menu is not bloated but offers traditional Spanish fare: the tapas are excellent (try the ...

  • Tapas are authentic
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/11/05
We lived in southern spain for 5 years and we go to this restaurant for the experience. Tapas are small but that is what a tapa is. Nearly every tapa is good and the sherries are excellent if you are a true fino drinker instead of the heavier olorosos. Yes, it is pricey but the experience is worth it to us and the tapas are excellent. We save it for special occasions and stay long and late.

  • Always going back!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/30/04
The food here is excellent! Though I only have had almost all the tapa selections. I haven't had a regular dinner entre. My husband and I go there for dinner all the time. It's more fun with four people if you want to do tapa; you can order more variety. It is a bit pricy but we still managed to stuff ourselves for a reasonable cost. E.g., four of us had loads of tapa, two pitchers of sangria and dessert for just over $100.

  • Awful!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/20/04
The absolute worst dining experience of my life! I wouldn't recommmend this place to my worst enemies! From the very beginning it was a nightmare! Although others, who were dining with pigtails in their hair, were having wine, I wasn't "allowed" to have wine because I looked too young. In addition, I was never offered a ...
