A great little find! First timers and we'll be back. The seafood was excellent and the atmosphere fun. Dinner is literally served on your table. Dessert also a must -- the homemade key lime pie was awesome. The prices were reasonable and portions generous.

Finally - a place for a good crawfish boil!
By tamlain, 06/17/05
I love this place! Any time you can find a place that feels like its a hide away, and it serves great seafood, you gotta keep going! My best friend is from the south and has always wanted to find a place for good seafood gumbo and a crawfish boil in San Diego, and was thrilled when I took him here for the first time. All he kept saying was "why the heck didn't I find this place years ago!!!" ....and the crab cakes!! The best!!

YOU WANT THE BEST?
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/23/05
I have been going to the Sandcrab for many years and the food and prices are almost the same they were the first time we went there. I LOVE the food and my kids think it's the BOMB.. It was my husbands favorite place and he died in 2003, we still go to the SandCrab for his bday on the 19th of September and will continue to go for generatons. You all do a great job!! The food is fresh, fine and finesse. I love this place.

Great Seafood and Fun!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/18/05
Our first experience with the Sand Crab was a surprise celebration for my husband's birthday about 4 years ago. We go back there every year now. Though parking can be a problem, and the restaurant can feel a bit crowded at times, the seafood is worth any inconvenience. We love the down-home ambience and the butcher-paper table-top presentation ...

Wish I could get there every week!!

Seafood by the pound dumped on your table. Oyster shooters. The best crab cakes. Can't believe this got one bad review. What did they order a peanut butter sandwich or steak? And how could you not love the staff?

Wouldn't go back.

Been there twice, once for lunch and the other for dinner. Food was bland. Service was mediocre. Wouldn't recommend it.

Not only is the Sand Crab Cafe a great place to eat it is also a lot of fun. The staff have been there for many years and will treat you well. The place is very informal and is full of office workers, cops, managers, the occasional lawyer and engineer. The food has a good variety and is very fresh. The prices are rolled back to about 1982 levels. ...
