I was so worried about buying tickets ahead of time, but there are lots of cruises available all day long- at least in August. It was excellent and we really saw TONS of whales! I got lots of pictures and the cruise was a couple hours- good length.
Went out on the Princess from Monterey. Incredible experience, whales, dolphins and pelicans put on an incredible show. Only thing to watch, a lot of people on the boat got seasick, even though the water was pretty calm. But if that's not a problem, don't miss this experience. The trip was about 3 hours, which was plenty.
On August 7, our family took the afternoon trip on the Sea Wolf II. It was one of the best experiences of our lives! We saw multiple humpbacks and 3 species of dolphins as well. The humpbacks were lunge feeding and at one time were right next to the boat. The crew on the boat could not have been better. They were very informative and were ...
Although there vvery cold wind and the boat moved a lot (some people got seasick) we were able to see 3 humpback whales in action. One was even lobtailing! We stayed out much longer than the other whale watching boats and it was a very enjoyable experience. Very nice and knowledgeable staff as well. Make sure to dress warmly!!
I took my husband on this tour for his birthday and we had a wonderful time. Saw humpbacks, sea lions and two or three kinds of dolphins! The crew was great. Totally reccommend.
Compared to the whale watching cruises I've been on in Southern CA, this one was far superior. Having a marine biologist tell you about what you are seeing was wonderful and staying out for three hours was nice. This is a first rate operation.
