This is a true testimony to the streets of LA. Built by a local and has withstood riots, earthquakes and God know what else. Not in the best neighborhood, so only go during the day. Well worth it.

I've been to the Watts Towers on more than once occasion, and they are always a wonderful experience. While they appear from a distance as if they're only steel structures, when you get up close and personal they are bedecked with colored stones, glass, tiles, pieces of soda bottles from earlier decades. A most amazing use of materials. ...

This is one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in America. Have fun but be careful. Keep your doors locked while driving through the area.

I've visited many places all over the world, and this is one of the highlights. Astounding to think it could have been created by one man with a vision. Did he use scaffolding? The only comparison I can think of is the buildings of Antoni Gaudi in Barcelona. Much the same sort of concept, but of course Gaudi used teams of builders and craftsmen.
there's nothing I can say I disliked about it at all. I liked the story behind the towers and how it was made by things that were donated by local friends and eveb strangers.
Take all three views, long from Graham & 107th; medium from 107th St and close up if the tour guides are there. Nothing like it. Buy a book at Art Center and learn more.

This is on of the most impressive landmarks I have seen in this country. Especially because of its location -- South Central LA, where two most devastating police brutality incided riots took place in the past 40 years or so (1965..)
The fact that an Italian Immigrant who spent decades in the building of this monument and dedicated it to the ...

The creator of the tower used ordinary objects such as broken plates and glasses and an enormous amount of time to create a mosaic tower. Even if the artist's vision is not to your taste you have to be impressed with the degree of creativity and dedication. This is not glitzy or Hollywood-like at all - it is the work of an extraordinary ...
