  • A Beautiful Ship
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/28/09
I have stayed at total of 8 times on the ship over the past 4 yrs when i travel to the US. She is one of the last grand ships of her time. Everything is period, the rooms and furnishings with terrific food. The only thing that was lacking was the ship is in need of some love, a new coat of paint and some rust removal. Staff were great and ...

  • It has been years
I was here in 1966 for dinner and it was the swankiest place to take company...however, I can understand that if the ship isn't periodically refurbished it can be a turn-off....The key is to insist that they do work before you return...write the owners.

  • Stay away, rip off
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/06/07
Went for a party that was hosted in the ballroom...What a disaster from terrible service, and when we asked to speak to a manager, we were told that there are none around. Food that were below the worst
we have ever had, tasted as if the food was all frozen and heat to prepare.. Rooms were dirty, the drapes torn and worn out, carpeting dirty and worn out to the point of tripping over..
Save your money, a VFW Hall is better then this place!

  • Not magical
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/09/07
I had jet lag when I stayed on the ship so I might have been a bit grumpy when I stayed. I thought some of the furnishings and my room was in need of an upgrade/refurbishment. The room was small and very dark with lots of wood on the walls etc. The restaurants were nothing special and the food was very average although the service was good. I enjoyed looking around the ship, but would not stay again.

  • We were haunted!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/16/07
Haunted by the ghastly prices...the chilling service. The truly creepy old fashioned room was like a haunted house: old, dark, ugly and not in good shape. Spent a very uncomfortable night - history aside, I like a room where I can turn around if I want to. Parking fees were vampiric. We ran, screaming.....

  • Overpriced and Overrated
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/26/07
My family stayed aboard the Queen Mary the first night of our trip for spring break...the room was nice but there were a lot of minor items in disrepair (broken tiles in the bathroom, missing moulding, large stains on the carpet, and general housekeeping items overlooked). For the price I would have expected the room to be immaculate. Many restraunts were closed or booked leaving few options for dining aboard. Staff was rather snooty!

  • A little sharp on prices, but well worth the experience
    By Bobbylane, 05/26/07
I had reserved a room for my sons birthday and we had stayed in the executive suites. I as well as my family truely enjoyed the stay. I would most recommend a night or weekend stay on board. The nostalgia along with the feel of what it might have felt like back then. So much history on board along with suggesting rooms service, the resturants were ...

  • Overpriced parking
    By ironman2020, 03/23/07
We stopped and ate at the Queen Mary, food was OK, Service OK. We were there just a little over an hour and they made us pay ten dollars for parking. Felt ripped off.

  • Pure Luxury!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/26/06
I loved staying on the QM. The service, food, surroundings were incredible. However, be prepared - the beds are very skinny & a bit short, (and we had a deluxe stateroom), and the bathtub is uniquely skinny and slopped.
If you go, make time for the ships tour of the engine rooms and 'bowels' of the ship & any exhibit that might be in their exhibit hall.
