I went to an opening of Cuban-African art and I was pleasantly surprised at the beauty of the space and galleries. This museum is a Los Angeles "hidden" treasure.

I went to an event there on a Sunday called Target Sundays at CAAM and it was amazing. The exhibits at the museum are pretty good but the Target Sundays program was excellent for the whole family and it was free! Music, vendors, storytelling, quilt making, arts and craft, it was great!

I visited the CAAM w/a spanish classmate as a homework assignment. She did not want to try any other museum in the area after vising this one. We both found informative topics to write on in the "traditional" african art section. I wish there would have been more to see in the traditional section for pleasure viewing.
