i love the location and the view. it was marvelous and romantic. i would love to be there 24 hours a day and seven days a week. There is no other place like it so far but in my dreams!!
one of the "must see" sights of LA. check out the observatory, griffith park, the hollywood sign, the LA skyline, the zoo...there is lots to do in the area of griffith park and observatory...enjoy
I was very disappointed with the Observatory in LA. It was very difficult to find and the signs were very confussing. And then, when we spent a lot of time finding the right roads, we found out it was closed AFTER we had gotten there. I will probably try to visit it in the future, if I can find it!!

OVERALL
A classic.

Besides getting a great view of The Hollywood sign at the parking lot, there is much to see. Check out the local seismic activity, take a tour of the stars with a laser show, see samples of moon dust. Why not take a trip out of this world?
It was fun and not just for kids; fun for all ages, no complaints except a bit hard to park. Might be hard on the joits of the aged.

It's not too bad of a place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/26/05
It has been about 2 years since I've been there and I really didn't like it all that much. It was good to see the stars and go into the obervatory area but most of the time I went there, the constructions were constantly prohibiting people to go into the observatory dome and the actual place.
I think it would be ok to visit once in a while to see some nice night view of Los angeles city/hollywood area but that's about it.
The place starts thru Griffith Park and uphill to the observatory. Once there you have great views of L.A.! Parking might be tight but otherwise its worth it and see the sights like the Hollywood Sign.

More than just an Observatory
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/26/05
The Observatory place on the same area of the LA zoo and Griffith Park. A great place to be for anybody with any interest. One of the most noticeable place to learn about space and starts
Good environment, It's great for little kids and adults. Great learning experience. I would recommend it as a field trip for school kids, 3rd through 5th grade.
