The lake is a great amenity for the city of Mission Viejo. Having the beach, grassy area, picnic tables, and playground make for a good outing. Add the boat rental, snack bar, basketball and volleyball and there is something for everyone. Weekends during the summer can get crowded though. It is actually a nice place to visit during the non-peak seasons.

The lake is very large and beautiful. In the mornings the water appears to be like glass, and when the sun is out, it is blue. There's plenty of fish in the far end of the lake to go fishing, and there's a variety of boats (party boats, kayaks, paddle boats, etc.) to rent with a small fee.
