Great park. Very interesting place to take your kids. You can see the tar pits and exhibits of the fossils that have been extracted from them. Free entry. Parking is $6.

Awesome place

Awesome place, and a lot of history behind. Excellent for adults and kids. I can't believe that in the middle of LA we find history from thousand of years ago, and the finding never stops. Every summer thousands of bones are found in this place.

La brea tar pits
By LuLink 88, 11/12/06
I have enjoyed visiting the La Brea Tar Pits since I was a little girl. Now my two boys enjoy it with me. A peaceful slice of heaven
By Atisa, 10/11/06
In the middle of the craziness that is LA, the tar pits, the Page Museum and the park surrounding them are a peaceful refuge. Sit by the boooke and watch the dragon flies flutter around. It's also a great place to take kids, and out of town visitors. It captures everyone's imagination.

Don't miss it!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/12/06
The La Brea Tar Pits was our highlight to Los Angeles. It was a educational highlight but in a fun and interesting way. The 10 minute movie they had showed exactly what happened at that time and you could then relate what you saw in the movie to the fossilized bones in the museum. The visit to "Pit 91" was also most interesting. You can ...
This is a very interesting spot go and check out on the Miracle Mile. It’s not a whole day thing but it’s fun to go and take the kids and check out this ancient site. The Museum has plenty to offer. Most of the exhibits were excavated on site. So it’s definitely worth the trip. Being an LA Native I my dad brought me here a few times and being an adult now I have gone back many times and I still enjoy it everytime.

A must stop for kids!
By Bonnie, 03/21/06
La Brea has a wonderful museum and you can see the pits. For adults it only takes about 30 minutes to see the important stuff, but if you like to linger you can spend as much as 1.5 hours.
When were there local students from various schools were there on field trips and they appeared to be having a blast! It's also very educational...
