I just love the ocean, walk holding hand with my fiancee, I go there at least every six weeks, we miss each other so much, and I have to visit him,I used to lived there tewnty years ago, love going to all different places, (mountains, Disneyland, Magic Mountain,Knotts Berry Farm, Universal Studios,El Mercadito, Hollywood, etc, I don't like the heavy traffic,and cost of leaving, I am living in a quite and peaceful City, (Omaha, NE)

I love to take my dog and walk up and down the pier, then sit for a spell and people watch. Such a diverse group of people gathered here. I love the bubble man.I also love the artists hanging around.

This historic pier fell on hard times, but in recent years, the City of Santa Monica has brought this venue back to life. The old gymnastic equipment got a face lift, the hotels along the beach are first rate, and the overall atmosphere is just plain fun. I thought this place was amazing. The ocean was amazing since I am from Minnesota, I have never seen it and I got to first experience it with Sam (whom I love)... but it was worth the 3.00 it costed to park!! The birds are a con because i don't like them... but other than that... its wonderful.

The pier was lovely, though they could do with a better choice of food. The ferris wheel was a great experience, though you do have to queue for a very long time to get on there.
The bathrooms were probably the only drawback. Very dirty and in need of a good clean.
Will definitely visit there again next I am in LA.

I took my 8 yr old daughter and 2 of my friends to the pier and the experience was good but being from Canada and not use to seeing beggers and homeless people we were a little scared passing through the park before the pier. Without a doubt this place can be one of the most beautiful experiences of your life. As if the gorgeous beach wasn't enough you add a memorable sunset to the combination and enter bliss. A place that everyone must experience for themselves. If you have been there with the right person the mere mention of this place will bring goosebumps to your soul.
