Bay Cities is a classic down to earth little deli nestled right into Santa Monica, CA. It is by far my favorite place to eat west of Philidelphia. Great people, service, and a east cost market-like atmosphere make it a superb place. The sandwiches are fresh and done right; which is hard to find in Los Angeles. True Italian roots. I love the subs & sandwiches at this place. They're perhaps the best I've ever eaten. However, I have one small gripe: Taking the subs home and eating them perhaps a couple hours later, I find the bread soggy in spots - not the entire bread but just a spot or two here and there. Bread should be toasty & crisp. How to remedy this problem?

Good: Wonderful chewy freshly-baked bread and a vast assortment of salads and condiments make for some gourmet sandwich-eating. Huge selection of imported Italian foods and snacks.
