Went ther with my boyfriend ( we are gay males) the waiter picked up on us right away = treated as equals with the other guests. Felt good about that == will say they are gay and lesbian friendly ++++. The food is always good -- the catholic priest I dated in high school senior year ( I was 18 then) always took me there after a walk on Blacks ...

Very disappointed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/16/07
Wait staff had a snobby attitude toward our party, possibly because we were all young and not White. We booked tables a week and half in advance for a group 15 for a going away dinner for a friend. Upon arrival waiter pulled our host aside and asked us how we expected to pay for dinner, despite that we were all impeccably dressed, as most of us are ...

We will wait forever to go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/09/07
What a disappointment. Our 55th Anniv. and we planned a special evening/dinner here. When making the reservations we told them it was a special evening and would like a window table. No fault of theirs, but we could have sat anywhere, it was dark by the time dinner was served, so, no view. We had 1 glass of wine, 1 beer, a seafood platter and ...

Way Overrated

The fried calamari was closer to chicken fingers than squid. The portions varied in size with the halibut entree containing enough food to pass for a small appetizer.

The SERVICE!
By kayciereyes007, 04/24/06
I loved the Crab Catcher their service was on point. I want to thank Justin who seated me and Ambrosia the Waitress for such a wonderful time. Ambrosia was definetly the best waitress I've encountered so far.
The food at lunch was great. I had the fried Calamari which I had thought lacked taste and the sauce I was given didn't help too ...

One of La Jolla's BEST!
By Erica, 03/16/06
The Crab Catcher is personally one of my favorite restraunts. Every item on the menu is unqiue and is cooked properly to insure both health and flavor. There are many items to chose from as well, so you're sure to find something for everyone. While some people may complain of the price, all I can say is that it's La Jolla. The entire ...

This is a must have in La Jolla
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/14/06
Everything was perfect, Service, Food, and Wine. We sat on the patio and the ambiance was delightful. What we enjoyed the most was that we have a 3 year old and not only does this high end restraunt cater to the adults but it was pleasing to our child with color crayons and coloring book. Love the Peggy Hopper art work through out. If you are ...

Unbelievable View
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/11/05
The food was good and the wine list is not overwhelming. Almost any choice you make regardless of price on the wine sold by the bottle list is a good one. The outstanding feature of this restaurant is the amazing veiw of the La Jolla Coastline. Go there during the day or in the early evening and sit outside to really enjoy it.

Crab Bisque! Yum!
By Steve R, 06/19/05
The view! wow!
Try the crab bisque and the fresh lobster, it's amazing.
As a local, I eat here all the time. The lunch menu is great, and they have an oyster bar on the lower level that offers a great way to start a dinner-time meal. A++
