Some of our family gathered for the Thanksgiving holiday in nearby Gilbert. We decided to take four adults and four children on a hike up Piestewa -- the children's ages being 12, 10, 8 and 8 -- the day after Thanksgiving. The oldest adult is 58. All made it to the peak. This was really great. I was able to grab great photos of Phoenix from this view. Also try the Mojave trail. It was very easy to hike. I would recommend this place to everyone.

Compared to its macho neighbor Camelback, Piestewa is only a moderately difficult hike, with no boulder fields to scramble up - only a well groomed trail.
