Simply Invigorating!!!Fun! Fun! Fun!
This was my first time in Phoenix. This was also my first time to mountain hike. I had a great time. The views from the climb were simply mind blowing. God was very creative when He created Arizona. Family hikeSome of our family gathered for the Thanksgiving holiday in nearby Gilbert. We decided to take four adults and four children on a hike up Piestewa -- the children's ages being 12, 10, 8 and 8 -- the day after Thanksgiving. The oldest adult is 58. All made it to the peak. Piestewa Peak (Squaw Peak) a moderate, safe climbCompared to its macho neighbor Camelback, Piestewa is only a moderately difficult hike, with no boulder fields to scramble up - only a well groomed trail. The trail turns quite steep toward the top, and there is one rock overhang to watch out for just before the summit.
