Don't go for the petroglyphs because you stand off at a distance to see the view you are permitted to see beyond the fences. Go only if there is a good program in the center. Otherwise, the Waterfall Trail at the White Tanks west of Phoenix is the best place to view a wide range of petroglyphs up close and personal.
