I know that everyone I speak to is impressed I just think its a hole in the ground and a waist of money and time.

Worth the trip!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/17/08
Admission was too high so I think they need to adjust their cost if they want to continue having people come see this marvelous place. It was very well worth the stop and educational. Our speaker was fantastic and personable, I would recommend it to everyone visiting the area.
I mean it's a hole in the ground from a meteor, right? Mandatory stop on our motorhome trip. Thought it would be quick in and out. We stayed til they threw us out at closing time :-)
Kids were fascinated ! ( 4, ages 6 to 11). Excellent kid friendly interactive museum. Plus the Crater itself (like the Grand Canyon) really has to be seen ...
The meteor crater rocks! We just happened to pass by on the way back from the Petrified Forest, and we almost missed out on an amazing experience. It was close to closing time, but they let us in anyway. I was disappointed we did not get to do a tour, but just to poke out heads in and see this was great and worth the entry fee. Sure, stuff that ...

Pretty amazing

I thought Meteor Crater was pretty amazing. Granted--it is not the Grand Canyon--but for what it is, it is amazing. It is just way out in the middle of nowhere, and there it is. I thought a lower fee would be more appropriate.

It was amazing dazzling and breath taaking I just can't wait to go back. The tickets to go in there didn't cost alot and they had great views for you to see the crater AND they also had a gift shop so you can rember the crater or Arizona.

Interesting site to visit
By ADawn, 06/13/07
This was an interesting place to visit. The tour of the crater was very informative and the guide we had (Harold) was fun to listen to. If taking a large group it could be a bit pricey ($15 per adult).

Good for the family

Even though it's off the freeway, part of the magic is the crater revealing just how BIG it is as you drive to it. Good movie and exhibits. If you're not into watching the movie and seeing ehibits, standing at the edge isn't that big a deal. There's an onsite Subway, so also good for a lunch stop.

Out-of-this-world experience
By chua_herbert, 08/23/06
True, this attraction may be the only one of its kind in the country, but the $15 admission is still too expensive just to see a huge crater. To be fair, this price covers admission to the museum, theatre and rim guided tour. The museum has interesting exhibits about meteors, including a simulation in which one varies the attributes (ie. size, ...
