Oh God, the worst. Plea to other reviewers, please be honest because a lot of people get fooled, one of them me. I took the package tour (hotel and train). Hotel was bad, they weren't honest enough to tell us there were only 2 channels working. Considering the price of the tour ( $390+ for 2 adults 2 kids) it was pricy, breakfast buffet ...
The rooms were clean, but the TVs only had 5 channels. Kind of pricey for what it was. My biggest concern, in retrospect, is the indoor pool: The only one of us to swim in it (my 12 year old) became violently ill within 24 hours. It was the only thing he did/ate, that no one else did.
yes, you can drive to the grand canyon in about an hour from WIlliams, Az, but the train ride is just good clean fun for kids. It's 2 hrs 15 minutes each way (departing at 9:30 am and leaving the canyon at 3:30), but my son had a blast. It's relaxing for everyone and you can enjoy the vie. The fake train robbery was hilarious. reccomend if you are in need of a slow paced family fun afternoon; kind of pricey, though.

The route is dull - only the last few miles consist of anything but scrub The train crawls along painfully slowly A host is assigned to each car to make sure nobody gets any peace. This starts with lengthy, self-indulgent, content-free announcements on the PA system. But it soon extends to engaging individual travellers in loud, vacuous chatter ...
Excellent. Mom and dad plus four children (age 4-11). Air conditioned comfort pulled by a steam locomotive.. one of my boys is a train nut.
Popped the extra cash for First Class, Arizona car... no, "Patrick's Party Car". Patrick was the host/steward. Funny, cheerful, a real class act. Made a pleasant trip that much ...
This is the way to go! No hassle comfortable way to get your family, kids, elderly to the Grand Canyon. It was a fun experience and they did a good job of entertaining us while on the train ride. I was worried about booking the cheaper car without AC, but it wasn't bad at all. I recommend the earlier reservation. Enjoy!
We took the trip with European relatives and we all had a wonderful time. The service was great especially on the way in. Our first class seats were relaxing and comfortable and the snacks very nice. We had not told our guests anything about the entertainment, and they were suitably surprised and thrilled. I personnally thought the very ...
The railroad trip is a definite must do on any vacation in this area! It is a bit pricey but the staff and "players" are fun and totally friendly! We had a blast! It was a relaxing ride to the canyon through very scenic lands - lots of photo ops! They have some musicians come through and sing old-time songs which is fun! There is a ...
We combined the regular train tour with the Polar Express in December and had an incredible time. Keep in mind you are in Williams,AZ - amenities are not five star, restaurants are not 5 star and accomdaitons are not either. If you know what to expect (a solid, clean 3 star hotel) you will be quite happy. The hotel was clean and the town was ...
