I really enjoyed driving on Route 66 and the people are absolutely great and the NAU girls all look like they could be models and you'll be able to catch a glimpse of them whenever they're jogging in the Downtown area.
And what I enjoyed most was the view of the unique houses and the quaint little shops and stores and bars.

Great place to visit. Fun atmosphere. Lots to see. Word of warning, though, if you are hungry, sit down right away at your food establishment of choice. From the time the food is ordered, to the time it hits your table, takes a bit of time. We were famished!! Must go along with that laid back attitude of Downtown Flagstaff. We can't wait to go back again. Its a beautiful city to visit.
Well, I live here in Flagstaff and downtown is my first place to go when we are ready for some nightlife, a meal or a nice walk. Great local restaraunts, coffee shops, shops and bars. Also the buildings retain much of their historic feel. Very walkable. Keep going through the adjoining neighborhoods to see very cute old houses.
Some of the shops there sell indian pottery, blackets, and other realated items but the price is allittle higher than if you went to some of the nearby indian settlements.
Downtown Flagstaff is a nice place to be...there are several local breweries (Mogollan, Flag Brew and Beaver Street Brewery) within walking; cool little shops and restaurants; very nice views of the San Francisco Peaks and all the Ponderosa Pines.
