It's a very nice place in a lovely location very easy to find on a freeway. Getting to see real rockets is amazing. All you see is real, not fake. There's a lot to see and kids really enjoy it. I would certainly go back.
My family planned a day of delightful suprises for me, the best being a surprise visit to the Space Center! From space rocks to standing in front of the Saturn V I was in constant awe. That was '07, I'm going back tomorrow!! It was worth the 3 hr travel, decent entry fee and loved the IMAX movie and have seens bought it! Highly recommended!!!
The best part of this attraction is free. The Saturn V and the SR-71 outside the center are terrific visual experiences. However the Museum tour is not that great. There is no defined or recommended structure to the tour. The facilities are in a poor state of repair and the employees are apathetic at best.
If you fondly remember the space program of the '60s and '70s, or if you have an avocational interest in weapons and military aircraft, you may find this worth the $20 admission charge.
Otherwise you may feel cheated. I didn't when I went, but there's definitely no need to go more than once. You can get to the NASA souvenir shop ...
