This was our favorite beach in PV. It was close to the apartment we rented in old town (Casa del Puente). We were there in early June, and the water was so warm that you could swim or float in the ocean comfortably for over an hour (this from someone who gets cold in the water in Hawaii!) We enjoyed watching the fish swim around us. The sand was ...
We love playa de los muertos! We stayed at Gaviota Vallarta Hotel, which is right in front of playa de los muertos. At 5 am, you can hear the waves; it just feels so peacefull!! fisherman are there so early. By 12 pm, the beach is crowd with lots of vendors. the place where they have the 3 beers for 5 buck is a restaurant call: "Los ...
Puerto Vallarta doesn't boast the most beautiful beaches, but this is definitely a fun one to visit. It's packed with a mix of locals and tourists along with piles of vendors selling you everything imaginable. The beach is lined with bars and cafes which are really cheap. We got 3 beers for $5! We didn't swim because the water was freezing, but definitely a fun place to hangout for a few hours.
I never believed I could spend a whole day at the beach, and not loose my mind with boredom. Boy was I proven wrong. This beach has everything I want. First of all is diversity, there are gay and lesbian right next to families with children all enjoying the sun sand water, coexisting in peace. Next there are restaurants with extremely inexpensive ...

The real reason it's called the beach of the dead...

I just got back from PV. On Saturday early afternoon I hitched a cab to "La Playa de los Muertos". My g/f and I were looking for a hip spot to have a few drinks and listen to music... what we found was filthy water, uncontrollable badgering from street vendors, and not a single beachfront bar/restaraunt that was what we were looking for. ...

The only place in PV to stay or hang out!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/27/06
My wife & I have been to PV many times, and we discovered the Los Muertos Beach area on one of our first trips to PV. We have spent many afternoons and sunsets at Burros Bar. A sunset at Burros is an experience not to be missed. We also like to hang out at Cuates y Cuetes up by the pier for either breakfast, or for sunsets and live music in the ...

fun in the sun

Just came back from a beautiful and sun filled week in Puerto Vallarta. Stayed in Old Town and spent a lot of time on this beautiful friendly beach. White sand, banana boats, parasailing etc. A short walk from the Santa Barbara Theatre where we took in the opening night of Phantom of the Opry. A musical comedy with some very talented people - a ...
We've stayed on this beach 7 times in the past 12 years. It's definitely gotten busier and more expensive as the years have passed. It's still fun and the best value in the area for beach hotels and restaurants. The costs are about the same as when we travel in the US. We never stay in expensive places or eat in expensive ...
I recommend Old Town and Los Muertos Beach for anyone wanting to stay in an area that offers all the best of what Puerto Vallarta has to offer.
By staying here, you are within walking distance of: Downtown and Malecon - this is where the "boardwalk" and most of the good nightlife is located along with some good restaurants, street ...

Charm, romance, and breathtaking beauty!

Truly a spectacular location, Playa de los Muertos is the PERFECT vacation spot for anyone looking for a romantic/relaxing/fun get-away. The sand is very fine with various colors from light beige to black. Vendors walk by with tempting shrimp, jewelry, blankets, and more. Banana boats zoom by with people having a blast bouncing up and down above ...
