My partner and I just return from Mexico. The last time I was in Mexico City I was 14 years my parents always took me to the old Basilica. This time that I went it was a beatifull and peacefull feeling as well. I don't think you need to be catholic to feel that once you walk in and see the Virgen the Guadalupe. You can not take falsh pictures inside.
It was a beutiful day outside and the local people were very friendly. My wife and I walked around for about 2 hours in the sorrounding area and even thou there was alot of people we had a great time. Great place for pictures and the food was awsome.
A definite place to see when in the D.F. the contrast of old and new architecture side by side is amazing. The landscaping is really nice. We went on a weekday and it wasn't very crowded!
Yes, the church is amazing. But if you walk between the old building and the new, you will find the beautiful gardens where the Virgin spoke to Juan Diego. Amidst the gardens you will find a handful of ornate chapels and fountains. Absolutely lovely!
We had a driver and van take us to the church area. This was inexpensive and a recommended way to come. It was early Thursday morning, so not crowded at all. The Bassilica is listing to the left, and being repaired, but we were still allowed to go inside and photograph. The newer modern church to the left, holds 10,000 and had a very interesting ...
We read about La Basilica de Nuestra Sra de Guadalupe since we were little kids...but actually been there was an experience we will never forget. This place is blessed...truly blessed...and large enough to hold hundreds and hundreds of people at one time. You will see history like never seeing before. It is very sad that the original basilica is ...
You must visit this place and if you did not then you where not in Mexico City. It is an amazing place full of energy. The structure and inside architecture is nice. It is amazing at the devotion that poeple have. They even kneel and walk in this way up to the church. It was a one in a lifetime experience. Do not go on major religous days since it will be tooooo crowded.
It is a beautiful place. The church’s structure is amazing. It has beautiful gardens and waterfalls. It’s amazing how the cloth in which she appeared in hundreds of years ago is still perfectly clear. You should visit this place even if you aren’t Catholic. It is free and it was worth the time.
This place will transform your life as you witness one of the greatest miracles: the cloth where the virgin appeared to San Juan Diego, don't leave without passing below it! Pope John Paul II loved visiting Mexico and had a very special place in his heart for this very warm hearted people. Mexicans are very devoted and faithful. Please be cautious with your surroundings since this place is usually very crowded.
