A must see!!This is the best place to be if you are in the area. There are traditional dances all day long, and stop around 10pm, this is a safe area that is highly guarded by the federal police, that are oustide the cathedral. as good as it getsTo see Mexico City with friends who live there is to be part of it not just a spectator. Like ANY huge city you can find the good and the bad. Be careful and watch yourself and you will be endlessly delighted with the place,the events, and especially the people.

Must Go!Of all the places in Mexico City, the Zocolo most reflects its complex mixture of culture and history. Simply stand in the middle and turn in a circle and you will see the elements of Mexico City from its ancient history to present. Also, the Zocolo attracts an interesting mix of people. Loved it! Considering moving there.I loved the culture and the people. They were all full of life. The food was great and the weather was wounderful during May. ZócaloThis was my first view of the city, directly from the metro. It was breathtaking. There was the Catedral in its glory and a ton of people. I could hear the noise of the vendors and smell the food. A parade of army men marched right in the National palace next to me, complete with automatic rifles.
