cuatro cositas
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/26/08
tucked away in the historic downtown, cafe tacuba is a national treasure. as Mexico City's oldest restaurant, it's stained glass and mural of nuns making mole are worth the visit. Add a wonderful menu of traditional dishes and it becomes a "must" for every traveler's list. i enjoy the cuatro cositas (the 4 little ...

I was returnung to Mexico City for the first time in almost three years with two friends who were visiting for their first time. We decided that Cafe de Tacuba would be a great idea for lunch after we had wandered throughout the Centro Historico. Our meals were mediocre at best, the service was slow and inattentive, but the ambience is wonderful. ...

We just happened upon this nice place!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/23/07
My wife and I were visiting Mex City in Feb '05 and were walking down the street after visiting the National Basilica; it was lunch time and we happened upon Cafe Tacuba. We went inside without reservations during the usual lunch rush. The service, food, drinks and Mariachi Music were very good!
Ambience was average for lunch. I haven't ...

Our favorite of all time!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/24/06
We go everytime we visit my aunt and uncle. The menu is varied and on each visit we have not found anything bad. The spinach enchiladas are to die for. The staff is friendly and always welcome you back home.
Outstanding food and atmosphere. One of the oldest restaurants still going. Should be added to every visit to Mexico. We first ate there in 1942. Haven't missed it since.

thumbs up, Café Tacuba!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/12/05
We visit Mexico City at least once a year, and save Café Tacuba (Tacuba 28, Centro Histórico; #55184950) for our last dinner, as we always stay in the Historic Center. We have been guests at hotels in the Zona Rosa and other venues, but prefer the atmosphere of the zócalo, with its convenience to minor museums, the metro, government buildings, ...

Their coffee is out of this world!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/20/05
Their signature "cafe Tacuba" (I believe) is out of this world! It's already been approximately 3-4 years since my last trip there and my best friend and I still go on and on about it! We'd even stop in, even if we weren't having a full meal there - which was also very good - just for a rich and satisfying coffee to complete the day properly.
How magnificent an experience.

Great Mexican Traditional Cuisine
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/21/04
Excellent ambient. The food presentation could be a little better but the taste is wonderful. Beatiful location in the heart of Mexico City's wonderful downtown. Prices are adequate.
