There was very little reef to see but the people are very friendly. The strong atmosphere is fantastic. The shopping by this region is also a joy.

wonderful place!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/11/07
I wish we had spent our entire day there. We took two taxi vans (16 in our party)there which was $20 per van there...a little more for the ride back. It was $16 for a basic entrance ticket and $25 for my teenage kids because I wanted them to be able to snorkel. There are plenty of the thatch roof umbrellas with chairs underneath on the beach to ...

Great Place

From the pier we took a taxi, which was 10 dollars, to Chankanaab and from the moment we got there the experience was well worth the 16.00 entrabce fee. We walked throught the botanical garden and visited the mayan ruins portion of the park. Everything was well kept and manicured. From there we went to the beach and claimed a palappa for our day. ...

Snorkel experience

I just went on a cruise September 11th and did the bike and snorkel tour to Parque Chankanaab. As soon as we got there I thought it was pretty nice, the view of the water looked picture perfect! We were given our gear from our guide Juan. As soon as I got in the water I put my mask on and looked down to see the most beautiful fish swimming all ...

Pina Coladas
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/02/06
I loved the pina coladas that were served in a carved out pineapple. They were $5 each and WELL worth it.
The sand was beautiful and the water was crystal clear. I saw more diffrent types of fish here than anywhere else. It was truely paradise.
Beautiful coral and lots of sea life. First time I'd seen an eagle ray. Also saw turtles, puffer fish, king crabs, spiny lobster, moray eels, barracuda, -- abundant sea creatures. Good choice for a shallow dive.
