make sure u take sneekers or comfortable shoes and bottle of water..awesome to climb the 120 steps up and so scary coming down... the guides tell you the history of the place and they let u go to explore wish we had more time there but non the less fantastic...
The mayan ruins of Tulum were amazing!! My husband and I went on a cruise this past September and this was one of our shore excursions...first you had to take a 45 minute ferry ride from Cozumel to the main land and then you had to take about an hour or so bus ride to Tulum...the only thing that kind of sucked with this was the fact that when you ...
Our guide had to have been the most knowledgeable individual in the world, and he was so proud of his heritage. I was totally hypnotized listening to his explanation of everything here. Again, I could just stop, stare and try to imagine life there, centuries ago. It made me keep thinking, how did people think of all these different things. I felt ...

history unfolds as you step onto the ruins where the mayans traveled to the shores coming from afar to worship the fertility gods.this site would have been a monumental city if not struck by seasonal and erosion of time.i enjoy historical scenes, ao this is a must for any vacationer.Desending the rear of the ruins, you can climb down to the ...

Beautiful, but maybe better solo and not on a tour
We went to Tulum on a tour, the bus ride from Playa Del Carmen wasn't bad at all, but once we got to the ruins it just didn't seem like we had enough time in spite of the fact that we were there for hours.
Our tour guide lingered longer at the shops trying to sell us stuff than he did telling us anything about Tulum, and half the ...

Awsome Mayan Reverence

The day I went was a 95 minutes bus ride in a bus where the a/c barely kept it was so hot outside. There is a small village at the gates before you enter in to the ruins site with a few shopes selling native mexican crafts. Only one tavern/ giftshop has air conditioning which it guards dilegently to keep the cool air inside by closely keeping ...

Breathtaking
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/26/07
Tulum had me absolutely speechless. There's something about visiting your cultures history and just imagining how it was to live back then...it makes go speechless and completely full of awe. The view of the beach from the cliff is absolutely amazing. You can't help but feel at peace here. I was incredibly sad when I heard that Hurrican Dean was heading to that beautiful coast. I'm hoping it wasn't to badly damaged.
This was an incredible and breathe taking place! Be sure and wear cool clothes (or a bathing suit)! There is a place on the beach to cool off! It is SUPER hot in the summer! Also, stay away from some of the venders outside the park near the parking lot. A seņior offered his sister to my husband in a backroom! Don't waste money on the ...

Tulum

We went to Tulum during our stay in Cozumel. We took a boat over early in the morning to Playa del Carmen. We rented a car, drove to Tulum and then to Chichen Itza. We were really rushed to get everywhere. We took a back pack to Tulum and did not bring bathing suits as per some advice from a parking attendant that actually ruined our trip there. If ...

Tulum is awesome
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/16/06
When I went to Tulum I was so impressed by the view and the beaches I could hardly speak. They have to be some of the most beautiful sites there are. As I walked among the ruins it amazed me how an ancient civilization could have built something such as this and to know that they did this without modern machinery! If you want to have a great ...
