In mid March we took the advice of some trip advisor reviewers and booked a sightseeing/snorkeling tour out to Chileno Beach. What an amazing beach with lots of colorful fish, eels, coral, etc. Bring your water cameras. We went via the CaboRey, an exceptionally organized catamarran with a wonderful crew. We caught this tour at the Marina across ...

Great experience

Not sure what other reviewers mean--we found a perfectly clean beach, pleasant people, not crowded, no hawkers, gentle waves. Brought a 3 year old, who had a great time. Highly recommended!

Help The Beach

Awesome beach with too much trash and no toilets. Mexico needs HELP with the trash toilet issues. Europe is cleaner, USA is cleaner, Pack your trash Please.

Car broken into
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/13/07
Don't go on the weekend if you are a tourist. We felt unwelcome and our rental car was broken into. Do not take anything of value there.

Great place!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/02/06
Chileno beach is a beautiful beach to snorkel and swim but be careful for jellyfish. Several people in my family were stung all over. It was very painful and miserable for them. I guess it's just one of the risks you take. Definately recommend taking local bus from Cabo or San Hose and getting dropped off on highway and walking in. Bring lots ...
I love Chileno Beach. The problem is the beach goers likes to trash the place. They have no respect. The beach has a nice wave, great for snorkeling. The state has to build a public restroom so that people will not do their business around the bushes.

Better beaches down the road
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/03/05
This beach was dirty with lots of cigarette butts and trash all around. The so called bathroom was absolutely gross (number two all over the place). We were there in June and the beach was heavily used and abused. Yes, the snorkeling is great, but the beach was hard to endure. Santa Maria was much cleaner, less crowded, and the snorkeling was almost as good.
This beach is not one of the main swimming beaches so it is not as crowded. It is perfect for snorkling and some quiet time. Apparently some boats drop snorklers off there in the am's, but when we were there no one else was even on the beach. Very peaceful and beautiful.

CHILENO BEACH
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/28/04
Several sites talk about the rental shop on the beach for kayaks, snorkel gear and dive gear. The shop closed three summers ago according to the locals. We packed our dive gear from San Jose caught the bus to Chileno and walked in. No dive shop! Great place to take a cooler and snorkel gear though..
