Extremely rude serviceThe service here is the worst I've seen in Halifax. The servers are rude and slow. What's more, the food is nothing to write home about. I'm really shocked that the Coast voted them the "best nachos" in 2009; they aren't anything special at all. Like the review below says, with so many great restaurants in the city, do yourself a favor and avoid this place. I know I won't be back.OVERALL

Terrible ServiceTheir service is terrible, one of the worst i've been to in a while
It took them a good hour before our food came out and one of our dishes was cold we ended up not even eating since it would have probably taken them who knows how long to heat it up
Value on the menu is not even worth it, their sandwiches don't even come with a side when there are so many other bars that provide this

SLOW SLOW SLOWThe economy shoe shop has probably the slowest service in town. While I was there eating with a friend, it took 40min for our nachos to come out. We then waited 1.5 hours for our main dish, which consisted of an order of curry chicken pasta and chicken wrap, which never actually came out of the kitchen. shoeshop simply is awesome ...economy shoe shop has the best decor in town ... stepping into the restaurant during daytime allow you to enjoy the greenish environment and fantastic/artistic decor. stepping into the restaurant during an evening time will yet give you another feeling .. one'll feel warm, romantic, simply enchanting!

Try on the "SHOE"!The economy shoe shop is a great local hangout and the place to go to relax and have a glass of vino with friends. It is a favorite of flight crews, celebrities, artists and locals. I like the jazz on Monday nights and the staff always remembers what you like to drink even if you have been away for a year or two! There are a few cougars but it has such great atmosphere.
