Located in the west side of the city just west of Kitsilano so you can combine a visit to the hotel with a walk on 4th avenue and maybe some shopping. The museum has a huge collection of 'first nations' items starting from gigantic totem poles and canoes down to masks, baskets and jewlery. Don't miss the the guided tour! It is free ...
This is what regional museums are all about! It is the best of the best. It showcases Indian artifacts and contemporary art of the Pacific Northwest.

Hidden Treasure of a Museum
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/24/05
This shouldn't be missed if you go to Vancouver. There are many large wooden works of native art, totem poles, etc. The atmosphere is great, and I wanted to spend more time. Not only this, but they have other sections dedicated to cultures around the world. There's way to much to see in one trip!
