It was fun to stroll leisurely through Gastown. Many interesting stores and types of eateries. One thing to beware of: There was supposed to be a 2pm free guided tour, meeting at Gassy Jack statue - at 2:30 pm, nobody showed up yet; asked a Western store nearby, and they commented that sometimes the person shows up, possibly late, sometimes ...
Resurrected @ 330 Cordova St W is a small specialty retail shop that really helps Environmentalists be 'Part of the solution' as everything here is 100% recycled... the local designer/owner takes old leather coats & re-designs them in to one-of-a-kind bags.. such a brilliant concept. Fair prices, too..
Gastown is a neat part of vancouver see at least once, it's short distance NE of Robson st. I liked evening better. Not a lot of homeless in Gastown, that would be a few blocks east to/on hastings.
Gastown is a historic area with lots of atmosphere. A special mention should go to Storyeum. It is a live history lesson of Vancouver and British Columbia. Well worth seeing.
We like the buildings, the streets, and all the shopping we do there when we visit.. Right now I don't think of what we don't like about this place, to me, its a beautiful place to visit when we go to Vancouver.
I love historic gastown. Something to do and see all year round, gastown has some great bars, pubs, restaurants all in a unique setting. Always offers something for the tourist and Vancouverite; I look forward in visiting again soon.
Everything that a person who has never been to Vancouver could want. Gastown is beautiful, tourist friendly, and if your looking for that hard to find gift, you'll most likely find it there. It is a must see if you are traveling there. Also check out the steam clock while you are there. 5 Stars!
