  • great subs!
    By timprove, 03/24/09
Calgary, otherwise being a boring town, has a couple of things going for it. One of them being a variety of food brought to town by a variety of etnicities. I have my favorite Greek, Shwarma, Sushi, Hungarian, Pannekoeken etc. and in the Vietnamese corner: The subs of Thi Thi's. I have tried some others. No Sir! Similar ingredients, but not the same experience. Thi Thi's makes the best one (Timmy the Tiger).

  • long time - no sub
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/26/08
I started going to this sub shop in the early 90's after college when I was broke as a joke, the subs were cheep ($2.25) and you could pick up an iced coffee from the grocery next door. It made a great lunch! Great subs especially the assorted! If you want to hear an amazing story inquire about the owners trip to Canada! Wow!

  • 130th Ave SE location also good
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/06/08
There is a location on Deerfoot Trail @130th Ave to serve the needs of the deep Southeast. Excellent subs there, but heavy on the peppers if you don't watch it.

  • 8th Ave Not up to the original
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/23/08
The original Thi Thi had, and still has a commitment to making sure you have a great sandwich experience. The 8th ave shop, however skimps on the chicken, and sometimes you get chicken that has dried out on the edges. Also, they seem to forget to cut the end of the bun sometimes, so your first bite is all bun. If they put a tiny bit more chicken in, and made sure it was not dried hard on the edges, this review would go from good to excellent.

  • Unbelievable
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/14/07
I live in Vancouver and my brother lives in Calgary. He introduced me on a visit a few years ago, and now these subs are part of the reason I visit so much. There is nothing like this anywhere. These subs are completely a one of a kind. Wish they existied in Vancouver. I would eat there all the time.

Please open in Vancouver, we more ethinic difersity than anywhere else in canada, but we do not have a Thi Thi sub shop!

  • Can Be Greasy
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/18/07
I find the 8th Ave. SW location hit and miss. The meats are swimming in grease so, as a result, depending on the day you can get a 1000+ calorie sandwich. Otherwise I love the taste. Need to skim the fat, guys.

  • I'm Salivating right now
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/01/07
These subs are amazing. A Sate chicken sub comes with pieces of spicy chicken breast, marinated carrots, thin sliced onion, a few sprigs of cilantro, and a couple of chili peppers for added heat. This is combined with a special Vietnamese mayo, cheese, and a little soy, on a fresh European sub (12 inch) type bun. What you end up with is an ...

  • Worth The Wait.
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/28/05
Hands down the best vietnamese sub place in Calgary, with the line-ups to prove it...but once you get your sandwich the wait time is completely irrelevant. What do they put in their sauce?? I'm convinced it's some sort of methamphetamine because it's straight up addictive...
