This place is vastly over-rated and far too expensive. The cheese fondue was very good and authentically Swiss, but so too was the price! Our party of five was disappointed by the main courses. Fast food burgers would have been tastier and less expensive. The worst aspect was the service. Our waiter was rude, untimely and undeserving of any ...

Our favorite restaurant in Banff! Great location! We really enjoyed the experience of using the hot stones. Everything was fresh and tasted great. Much Much better than The Melting Pot or La Fondue. The staff was friendly and even remembered our preferences. We plan to visit Banff and Grizzly House again real soon.

tourist trap
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/13/08
lots of game food, but not very good. you cook it on a slab of stone... over priced and not worth the novelty because at the end you ask, that was it? it's a tourist trap. Our entire party was unimpressed...The Keg, Banffshire Club, Typhoon, and Saltlik-all provided superior dining experiences

Expensive
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/21/08
This place was excellent in taste, and in service. The place looks like a tree on the inside and out. But when we had like 8 chunks of beef fondue, and 2 chunks of alligator the bill was expensve. We had three people dining and the bill was over 100 and we didn't even have wine. So if you want a small portion with expensive taste go here.

Bad Service

I have dined at the Grozzly House many times. However, this past weekend we were in Banff and stopped in to make a reservation for that same evening, as we have done many times in the past. We asked the hostess if we would be able to make a reservation for that evening, and she snapped 'not til 10:00. It's the long weekend guys' First ...

Great for all age groups
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/07/07
The food was delicious. We couldn't get over how tender the beef was. The sauces were yummy. We were a table of 8 women ages 18 to 72. We all enjoyed it a lot. You can use the table phones to call other tables, so we had a lot of fun with that. Even tho it was expensive, we thought it was worth it for the food and the entertainment value. After all it is Banff, everything is expensive. We would do it again.

The diversity of the food offered and the ability to share and experiment made this a truly unique dining experience. The waiter was helpful and entertaining. A+ experience.

The Place is very cozy, and welcoming. Every time I go to Banff I always make sure I take the time to go and eat at the Grizzly House. The price and be alittle expensve with larger groups but it is worth it.
