Whilst living & working in Headington since 2004. Cafe Noir was for me a place to get away from 'Headington'.
However, many things have changed since then.
Atmosphere,food and professional conduct attracted me to the Cafe Noir.

Staff used to be professional & their attention to detail was on par with some of the restaurants ...

This is one of my favourite restaurants in Oxford because it has a warm homely atmosphere and the service is always good. I've been here with my boyfriend, with special girl friends and also with my family and enjoy the intimate surroundings plus great food.
I don't know if they do the jazz anymore but this was a plus in the past.

I found this cafe/restaurant charmingly European, which you can't say for much of Headington, or, indeed, Oxford. The staff are friendly, in a French way, and relaxed without being Starbucks. They are very child-friendly although not catering for children per se. Good, well presented coffees and liqueurs. This is the oldest cafe in Headington, if you don't count the greasy spoon in Smarts Fish Bar!
