The Victoria and Albert museum is free like the majority of museums in London. It did have some special exhibits that cost extra though. The good thing about the museum was the variety of items they had, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Also, if you're up for a day at the museum, there are about 2-3 museums across the street too. Also, ...
The day we went the admission was free. There were great displays of gravestones as well as obilisks. To my surprise they had a Chouley Glass display over the information booth as you enter. Great variety of different venues. Loved it!

It has lots of activities afor families and specialises in art and design. There were lots of displays, but I think there should be more interactive things taking place.

Most Beautiful Museum in London
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/28/07
This museum is free so of course it was worth the entry fee. Everything was beautiful. I especially adored the fashion exhibit, looking at all of the royal dresses and haute couture from ages past. It is a must see for all those interested in antiques, fashion and collectables. They also had a really great gift shop and had the best postcards in London! Go an hour or so before they close on a weekday and there will be no crowd.

Huge and very fine
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/17/07
Enjoyed most the fashion gallery, musical instruments, plaster cast gallery, glass galleries, and silver galleries most.
The Islamic galleries are very fine, but not my favorite art. The Chinese and Japanes collections are ok. For the greatest Chinese galleries I've seen, check out National Palace Museum in Taiwan and especially the Royal York Museum in Toronto.
In the Don't Miss column is the V and A (its a bit funky, it has paintings and furniture and silverware and some clothes, not a real pattern place, but a bit of this and that and its well organized and clean. Better than the Science Museum, Better than the Natural History. Do see this one, and see the British Museum, the Museum of ...
Nice change in museums for the London scene - its not just paintings. The best part of the V&A is the Thursday late nights. The museum is open late and holds different events including lots of free ones. They can be extremely interesting and expose you to London’s variety of cultures. It’s free and fun and in London where so much closes at 6:00 p.m. you can get time in at a different type of museum.
