This is a must see when visiting London. Using the audio sets, we visited every area of Wesminster Abby and stayed for at least 3 hours. My kids aged 10 and 13 were never bored and remained very interested in the history, graves, and lives buried at the Abbey. I walked away wondering...what sort of historical drama took place in each of these lives in order for them to win the honor of a burial at the Abbey.
I spent 4 and a half hours there. It was so wonderful, especially the verger tour which took us to the Confessor's tomb. I felt so privileged to have felt the presence of so much history. Imagine being in the same place where previous kings and queens were crowned and buried. The architecture was also beautiful and my whole experience there ...
This place is absolutely huge. The architecture is amazing. It was amazing seeing all the famous graves/monuments to all the monarchs and famous people of English history. I would say it is a definite must see if you are going to London. The admission price isn't bad and you can get a discount if you are a student or a senior citizen. The only ...
This is just such an amazing place! My greatest thrill was to stand on the grave of one of my favorite composers, Handel. You can pay for a tour but sometimes you can just listen in on groups around you. It's quiet and reverent. We also went outside and visited the gardens which were beautiful and a nice place to rest our feet and relax.

When I was there I found the tomb stones very interesting and that all the artifacts and information you can get from the leaflets and the guide that you listen to.

Memorable and humbling. Learning about the history of the Abbey is an unforgettable experience. Reading about it pales in comparison to walking around and listening to a docent explain all the nooks and crannies.

You really can't beat the history lesson here--I learned more about the royal family here than almost anywhere else.
My kids (10 & 6) enjoyed reading all the history too, and looking at the beauty and just overwhelming majesty of the place.
As historic as the abbey is in the minds of tourists, it is a rather boring place and a big tourist trap. I mean, come on now. They set up chairs and ropes to ultimately lead you to the gift shop rather than allow more freedom/flexibility to roam about to marvel at the history. A bit lame... check it out from the outside and save yourself 10quid.
it is beutiful in there, and worth a visit, but its hard to get the whole goth history feel of it because its so touristy. maybe try to aim your visit when its a little less crowded. oh, and the little museum in there was definetly my favourite part about it. its actually pretty cheap in compare to other london attractions (10 GBP).
