Disappointing Trip.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/29/07
I was really looking forward to going out on a day trip to the zoo with my brother and parents. We had decided to go there over Howletts zoo and were extremely disappointed with our choice. My parents said that the zoo used to be a wonderful place but now, just a dump. A horrible place for the animals to be living. My brother favourite animals ...
We hated the way there are signs everywhere that say flash photography scares the animals and yet thousands of flashes kept popping off scaring the Gorillas.
The zoo keepers reminded everyone of this rule but no one seemed to want to enforce it. The Gorillas appeared bewildered by the flashes but clearly a photo is more important than the ...

Great day out at the Zoo
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/19/07
Visited the Zoo a couple of years ago and there was quite a lot of building work just started so revisited to see what the improvements would do for the Zoo - and its fantastic! We loved the new Gorilla Kingdom, the space the animals have is just great and as well as the three gorillas there are still lots of monkeys, really nicely landscaped as ...

looking foward to going back at easter!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/29/07
I visited this jan 07, have not been here since i was at school in 1983! I really enjoyed my day, but was disappointed in not seeing the gorillas and the bears were not out due to the cold weather. I am planning to return this Easter weekend to visit the new Gorillas section just opened this Easter! and hope the Bears are out. All in all I think the zoo was well worth the money and a great day out.

First visited penguins in 1943
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/09/07
I remember visiting the penguins alone, as I had mislaid my mother, and was found walking around with them in their enclosure by the water. I was 3 years old and remember the grey concrete and steps going down them to walk around with the penguins, who did not frighten me at all. My mother had searched for ages until I was found safely with my bird friends.

I will not be going again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/23/06
I took my three grandchildren to the zoo today, 23.12.06 as a Christmas treat. It was the greatest disappointment we have experienced. The animals were obvious by there absence. The food which was costly was lukewarm and the staff could not care less. They were busy chatting in little groups. We understood we would have a show featuring ...

London Zoo - a terrible let down
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/30/06
I used to enjoy going to London Zoo, as it was once the best and most famous zoo in Britain and arguably the world.
However it has changed a great deal over the years, and is now a terrible disappointment, for a number of reasons.
- Entry prices are expensive. The tickets are £14-50 for adults and £11-50 for children, as compared with £10 and ...

Zoo admission is expensive at 14.50 GBP per adult and 11.50 GBP per child. The Zoo automatically include in these prices a 1.50 GBP 'voluntary donation', If you don't wish to pay this donation, you have to insist they remove the extra charge.
The Zoo has several sections closed because they under renovation, such as the gorillas and ...
